I have been lucky enough to join the Geriactors in late 2000, and have appeared with them now in The Second Shepherds' Play, Shakespeare Over Easy or Where There's a Will There's Our Way, About Time, Story Theater and We Were Thereat assorted venues in Western New York. We have a new Christmas program, first performed December 2006, and are working on a seventh program, Wisdom From a Park Bench. Here's the current cast of characters. If you want to hire us, please contact me.
On acting as a career: "If you have a choice and would be reasonably happy doing something else, by all means go and do something else" Michael Shurtleff Audition Walker: NY 1978, p 134.
"Insofar as it is possible to divide people into categories, the surest criterion is the deep seated desires that orient them to one or another lifelong activity. Every Frenchman is different. But all actors the world over are similiar — in Paris, Prague, or the back of beyond. An actor is someone who in early childhood consents to exhibit himself in public for the rest of his life to an anonymous public. Without that basic consent, which has nothing to do with talent, which goes deeper than talent, no one can become an actor." Milan Kundera The Incredible Lightness of Being [tr. Michael Henry Heim]
". . . .Aeschylus did not invent theater to have it end up a bunch of chorus kids wondering which of them will go to Kitty Kat Heaven" John Guare, Six Degrees of Separation
" . . .one must take a part, assume a character, stand ready in a sensible way to play the fool . . ." Herman Melville, The Confidence Man
". . . people who eat nuts in theaters do this more when actors are bad . . ." Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics, [tr.] T. Irwin, Hackett:Indianapolis
