Freshman Recruitment (9/6/07)
- Alissa and Marc will speak to ME104Q students this Thursday, 9/6, at 9:40 AM during the first 10 minutes of class.
- Membership pamphlets will be provided to freshmen; applications to be returned to Professor Gans for his signature.
Activities Fair (9/7/07)
- Activities Fair is scheduled for 3 PM to 4:30 PM on Friday, 9/7.
- Wear your ASME shirt to the fair!
- Tabling:
o Joni and Steve 3 PM to 3:45 PM
o Alissa, Marc, Heather 3:45 PM to 4:30 PM
- Poster / Props for fair:
o Poster-making on Thursday, 9/7, at 3:25 PM
o Marc will make teasers to hand out (1/4 page, website info, etc.)
o Possible props: egg drop, bridge, pumpkin launcher?
o Candy to generate interest?
ASME Picnic (9/21/07)
- Picnic is scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM on Friday, September 21st.
- GVP Roundhouse is reserved for event.
- Flyers to go up around campus next week. Joni agreed to e-mail a flyer by Monday 9/10. (Flyer should include time, date, location, information for people who want to walk over from ITS together with us, and that food/beverages will be provided)
- Marc and Heather will lead walking party from ITS. Those interested should meet at 4:15 in front of ITS.
- Next week – discuss what and how much food to purchase for the event. Also, we should determine whether we need refrigeration and if so, if that will be available.
Student Leadership Seminar (10/6/07)

ASME Scholarship Winners
- Clarke Scholarship ($2000) awarded to 3 new freshmen ME majors.
- Recipients: Steven Bandes, Dustin Canzonieri, Jeffrey Garkowski
- We’ll plan to recognize the winners at the picnic. Alissa agreed to make certificates to give out.
- Try to get these three freshmen involved in ASME and possibly attend leadership seminar
ASME Office
- Office cleanout scheduled for Saturday 9/8 at 1:30 PM
- We have keys to Gavett 212 (the ASME office) and Gavett 213. Next week – determine who needs keys to these offices, and whether we need to get more keys from facilities.
ASME Fall Goals:
- Get people to participate in the pumpkin launch. We could restructure the rules to get more entrants. (Tentative date for the pumpkin launch: Friday 11/2)
- Plan an ASME event for this month - pizza, minigolf, bowling, etc.
- Get Ingersoll-Rand things organized (Brendan to be IR chair).
- Get more people to come to meetings, perhaps by having separate general and exec board meetings, and announcing the meetings.
- Try to ensure all classes are represented in ASME
- New mission statement - Marc will write up a new mission statement to post on the website.
ASME Meetings
- 6:15 Wednesday nights, every week.
- Next week (9/12) – Pictures taken for website.
