ASME Meeting Minutes

Present: Joni, Dustin, Eric, Simpson, Marc, Trevor, Prof. Gans, Colleen

Picnic

• 60-70 people attended
• Copies of receipts need to go to Jill and Dave
• Next year: potato salad and get tax free certificates ahead of time

Pumpkin Launch

• Trophies were ordered by Dustin, $49
• Gift card for winner?
• Judges – Robert Clark, Scott Russell, Dean Burgett, Dr. Gans, John Ballou, Bob Elson
• Two high schools were emailed (Honeoye and a city school), waiting for reply
• Potential sponsors – Home Depot, Lowes, local hardware stores – seek group reimbursements, prizes
• Fundraising – food permit submitted for cider
• Important because Lego League is no longer an opportunity (Aramark completely taken over concessions)
• Possibly popcorn – talk to MIF (they are the ones who do URCG’s)

SLS

• Hotel Reservations made – Park Ave Hotel, Weehawken, NJ (201) 330-9494, 3 rooms, 2 doubles each
• Departure time – about 2 pm, car arrangements:
• Eric – Dave and Colleen
• Prof. Gans – Joni and Dustin
• Attire – business casual, possibly something UR/ASME affiliated

Senior Section

• Meeting Tues 9/23 at 6 pm
• Steve and Joni attend
• Talk to Bob Elson about judging Pumpkin Launch, take rules to distribute

ESW Speaker

• Coming to Rochester Oct 20-24, public lecture Wed Oct 22 7:15pm
• Wants to meet with exec boards of ESW and ASME
• No monetary contribution necessary

T-Shirts

• Keg Shirts – more, different color though, still $10
• Pumpkin Launch shirts – Heather for design?
• Want both sets of shirts available for sale at the Pumpkin launch
