ASME Meeting Minutes

5:15 pm, Hopeman Conference Room

Attendees: Joni, Trevor, David Simpson, Professor Gans, Dustin, Colleen

Roast Planning

• Professor invitation letters sent
• emails to students - Joni emailed, Renee emailed
• DJ - all set
• Projector screen - center of room, use a sheet (will test beforehand)
• skits - writing on Thursday, rehearsal next week, will set up a dress rehearsal for either the Thursday night before the roast or the day of (Dave and Colleen)
• Basic Schedule:

6-7: Social Hour

7-8: Dinner

8-8:30: Awards and Desserts

8:30-9:30: Skits

9:30-onward: dance party!

Corn Starch Event

• we still want D-Day (though Stacey doesn't like D-Day)
• we will see what work is involved in setting the event up for D-Day and then judge whether or not we will try

Pumpkin Launch

• event: Friday, October 30 with prelim on Friday, Oct 23
• Scoring - keep accuracy and distance
• markers every 25 ft
• ribbons for best design, etc
• size: 5 ft x 5 ft x 6ft (tall) prism - better for trebuchets
• ASME carve pumpkins so they fracture on impact
• entry fee of $5-$10 (if we provide pumpkins)

End-of-the-Year events

• picnic/elections/reflections
• combined Gavett picnic/bbq with elections
