ColosseumStudy Abroad for Engineering Students

Starting in the Spring of 1998, engineering students will have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad, (the spring of their sophomore year) at the ORT/Braude College in Karmiel, Israel. The students will be able to take all the engineering and science courses, taught in English, that they would need had they stayed at the University of Rochester. In this way, they will be able to fulfill all degree requirements in four years. In addition to engineering and science courses in English, students studying abroad will have the opportunity to take courses in archaeology, biblical studies, and mid-east culture. They will also have the opportunity to do field work in these areas, as well as travel in the region.

In addition, some mechanical engineering students have arranged for study abroad in Australia, while others have used Take Five to study abroad outside of the engineering discipline. Consult the Center for Study Abroad for more information.
